Community gathers to honor McCollum family

Kristine Abbey hands out American flags to people gathered along Broadway Avenue on Monday afternoon. Hundreds of community members and visitors gather to honor the family of Marine Corps Lance Cpl. Rylee McCollum as they are escorted to their Jackson home after returning from Dover, Delaware. McCollum, a 20-year-old Jackson native and Summit Innovations graduate, was killed Aug. 26 in Afghanistan with 12 other U.S. service members during operations to evacuate Americans and U.S. allies from Kabul.
