WYDOT avalanche technician Brendan Cronin digs into fresh snow in March on the upper slope of Mt. Glory to evaluate its stability. Hundreds of backcountry skiers and snowboarders ascend Glory each day in the winter, and many ski slopes that are avalanche paths prone to dumping snow onto Highway 22 below, where thousands of daily commuters rely on the artary to get from their homes in Teton Valley, Idaho, to jobs in Jackson Hole.. “In reality, 100% of our focus is on the traveling public,” Cronin said. “In a perfect world, we would never worry about skiers.”
