South Highway 89 avalanche

A front loader works to clear debris from a significant avalanche that blocked almost all travel lanes of Highway 89 just south of Jackson on Thursday afternoon. The avalanche originated on a ridgeline about 600 feet above the highway and dumped about 10-12 feet onto the highway below. No vehicles were caught or damaged in the slide.
