A snowboarder begins ascending Mount Glory from the summit of Teton Pass. Hundreds of backcountry skiers and snowboarders hike Glory each day in the winter, and many ski slopes that are avalanche paths prone to dumping snow onto Highway 22 below, where thousands of daily commuters rely on the artary to get from their homes in Teton Valley, Idaho, to jobs in Jackson Hole. “In reality, 100% of our focus is on the traveling public,” WYDOT avalanche technician Brendan Cronin said. “In a perfect world, we would never worry about skiers.”
