Yellowstone swans

Bill Long of the Wyoming Wetlands Society scans Grebe Lake in Yellowstone National Park in early June to find the location of a pair of trumpeter swans nesting on the lake. Yellowstone is down to this single wild pair of breeding swans, and to prevent a total collapse the park has teamed with WWS to essentially keep those birds on life support.
