Bridger-Teton National Forest avalanche lab

A two-by-four, painted white and jammed into the ground, has been the benchmark for snow depth measrements at the Rendezvous Plot at Jackson Hole Mountain Resort since 1965. On March 1 the depth measured 151 inches, a record at the plot at that point in the season.
