Mark Daluge, assistant supervisor at Teton County Weed and Pest, and Morgan Graham, a GIS and wildlife specialist with the Teton Conservation District, perform a transect at a cheatgrass study plot on the south slope of Saddle Butte, counting and noting the various plant types found and taking soil depth measurements. The conservation district and Teton County Weed and Pest are studying different ways to combat nonnative cheatgrass, which has become established throughout much of Jackson Hole, edging out more beneficial native grasses.
