The view from the north shore of Shoshone Lake near a section called The Narrows. Though it is only about one-third of a mile wide — the best place for a north/south crossing the lake — The Narrows should still be navigated with caution, as they act as a natural wind tunnel with gusts that can be stronger than those on other parts of the lake. In 1994, a park ranger died when his kayak capsized when crossing this area.
